Aromatherapy Essential oils can combat a virus?

Aromatherapy can really fight a virus? The quick answer is: Yes! However, research has happened in this area, particularly in Europe, and is not known or understood in the United States

The traditional American medical community has largely ignored this research. Seems much more interested in Europe in the development of natural alternatives to synthetic drugs or drugs, and a number of patents have been deposited there for the antiviralPreparations of essential oils.

In fact, the commercial products are made from essential oils available in the European markets for decades.

It ' "essential" means that the oils for therapeutic purposes in its pure form, so that the active components will be present. Low-grade oils, such as mass production just to reach certain aromas can be quite ineffective against viral or bacterial organisms. It 'so important if you wantachieve a therapeutic benefit, in order to ensure a high quality oil is bought.

Some of the conditions for the essential oils were reported to be effective herpes simplex I (cold sores), herpes zoster (shingles), human Rhinovirus Type II (a "common" cold), viral hepatitis, the disease Newcastle, mumps, and some strains of influenza, viral enteritis, enterocolitis, neuritis, smallpox, polio and HIV-1, according to some sources.

Fighting disease with essential oils is not newConcept. In fact, all over the world, and over the centuries, the people depended only to those prepared to do so. Professionals who were now known as aromatherapy, as the doctors of the time, and why these therapies work, have been considered higher than any other health care professions or practices that existed at the time.

Only in 1980, Dr. Jean Valnet, French, a surgeon, the reports have successfully treated cases of herpes zoster and influenza, with a mixturesome essential oils include pine, thyme and lemon oil. These oils are still in use in aromatherapy clinic for monitoring of some viruses.

While aromatherapy and its clinical applications are still widely criticized by traditional medicine, the European scientists have enthusiastically embraced the pursuit of research on the properties and uses of essential oils.

Swine Flu Hype

With the media's recent (April 2009) sensationalism of the swine flu and constant video clips of people in surgical masks, I couldn't resist the urge to go out and buy some for myself and have some fun with the idea. The composite image turned out pretty well for a quickie project. The "swines" are actually my wife's piggy bank. lol Please visit my myCDlife.com for the widescreen version of this image and my take on the media's BS sensationalism of this very, very small threat that has been blown WAY out of proportion. Direct link to my article: www.mycdlife.com/2009/04/crossdressers-not-immune-to-swin... This is not a "pandemic", but that's the big buzz word they keep repeating on the news anyway. Anyone else have a problem with sensationalism and unnecessary scare tactics? Getting the word out about a threat is good... but trying to scare people just to keep them glued to the news is appalling. Add up the number of CONFIRMED cases, then divide by the world population. You've got a MUCH better chance of winning the lottery jackpot than catching the swine flu. Oh, and by the way - those surgical masks will do little to protect you from this kind of thing. Research that for yourself though.
